LFCPoland.com: Dominic, it’s a pleasure to meet you and do this interview with you for LFCPoland.com. Of course the reason for this is simple: your brilliant idea of run from Hillsborough to Anfield to raise the funds for the families of Hillsborough Disaster. Can you get closer our users about the idea, where did it come off, why you chose a run and can you say more about your team members?

Dominic Williams: Hi Rad and Polish LFC supporters, the idea came to me on my visit to Anfield for the Sunderland game in August, I went that day with my family and a couple of friends and we went and had a look around the museum before the game. On exiting the museum as you walk down the stairs this really big tile mosaic hits you. It is has 96 shirts numbered 1-96 with the name of the individuals, it really made me think. As I am a keen runner it seemed the obvious solution and when I started to put it to different people I began to realise it had not been done before. So that is how the idea came to me.

- I read lots of comments about your run, most of them are very positive, so you can expect a huge supporters during the run, but people are also saying it is mad to run 70 miles in two and half days. Do you and your running team are well prepared for this extreme event?

- I don't think I have had one negative bit of feedback for the run as yet and I imagine the support on our homerun through the streets of my great City will take the breath away. It is mad to be running 70+ miles in two and a half day but, we as a team are going to be well prepared and help and support each other from the first steps to the last.

- What are the main tasks for you beside raising the money for Hillsborough Justice Campaign?

- To try and change the public perception about what happened that day, though Steve Rotheram MP and Andy Burnham MP recent speeches in the House of Commons went a long way toward this.

- This kind of event will be for the first time. Did you think to do it frequently?

- It may not be the same run and hopefully the cause will be no more but, I am hoping to do carry on supporting the families and also try and get some good projects going in my hometown. It is something we can look in to further down the line, as our great manager would say "one game at a time".

- Did you receive any support from the Club?

- Not yet but, as this grows and it gets more and more interest we certainly hope they will. The plan has always been to do a presentation to HJC before kick off or at half time on the day we run in to Liverpool. The club may just be waiting to make sure this is serious, as you say, some think it is a bit mad.

- Why have you got so involved in helping the foundation? Is it just because you’re a huge LFC supporter and you wanted to do something great for the Hillsborough families or you personally lost someone during the disaster?

- Because I was 13 when the disaster happened and it is something we as Liverpool supporters all have to live with, I remember the queuing  with my Mum and older brother to lay flowers on the pitch, a seen I will never forget. I am doing it because it feels right and because I am a LFC supporter it is the right thing to do.

- Let’s go back to the latest Parliament session about Hillsborough couple weeks ago. Do you think it was a crucial moment in the fight for justice for the victims and families and finally they will get the justice?

- I think it was absolutely pivotal in the fight for justice, there is still a long way to go though and we must all keep up with the pressure.

- LFCPoland.com gave to our users an opportunity to get more familiar with your idea and I have to say, you’ve got a huge support from them. Would you like to say something for the Polish Reds?

- I would just like to say a huge thank you to all the LFCPoland supporters and if any can manage to be on the route or on the homerun in Liverpool to show support it would be fantastic. YNWA

- Dominic, it was a real pleasure for me to made this interview. We keep our fingers crossed and we are looking forward for more news about the run!

IroLFC; 15.11.2011; 14:50
Właśnie, dlaczego wrzucacie angielski wywiad ?
